Description
Principles of probability and statistics tailored for social sciences. Students do not need to have previous background.
Lectures
Part I: 6.9.-6.10.
Mondays 16-18 room P617 (Porthania), Wednesdays 10-12 room P724 (Porthania).
Part II: 1.11-1.12.
Mondays 16-18 room P617 (Porthania), Wednesdays 10-12 Unioninkatu 40 room 6 (Metsätalo).
Exams
Two exams. One at the end of each period.
Exam part I: October 21st Auditorium XII in the Main building from 10-13.
Exam part II: December 10th room 8 in the Main building from 10 to 13.
Bibliography
Course's book: Introductory Statistics, Third Edition. Sheldon Ross.. Chapters from 1 to 7 (included).
Students are encouraged to buy the book since the same book will be used in the sequel course in spring.
