Who the service is for
Helsinki.fi Slack is intended for individuals and teams who:
- develop software applications or information systems
- maintain or operate applications and related services
- participate in DevOps, information security, integration, API, testing, or architecture activities
- work in software development projects as product owners, project managers, analysts, designers, developers, or other development-related roles
- need to collaborate with the wider University of Helsinki software development community
Use of the service is not restricted to any particular organizational unit. All members of the University of Helsinki community involved in software development activities are welcome to use the service.
What the service is not intended for
Helsinki.fi Slack is not intended to be a general-purpose communication platform for the entire university.
The service should not be used for:
- general communication within research groups
- teaching activities or course-related communication
- general collaboration within administrative teams
- project or unit-wide communication that is not related to software development
- replacing the university's primary collaboration and communication platforms, such as Microsoft Teams
If the primary purpose of a group's activities is not related to software development, application maintenance, or the supporting practices around them, another university-provided collaboration service should be used instead.
