LMU has a 50TB quota on the CSC Ida system. LMU users who require more storage space than can be reasonably allocated from LMU Disks should use Ida instead.

Ida usage is funded by Ministry of Education until the end of 2017, and also LMU doesn't charge it's customer for using it. This may change in the future.

Getting access to Ida

• Download application form.
• Print and fill in page 4.
• Bring the document to LMU staff.

Using Ida

• Connect to Ida (see CyberDuck and icommands for details)
• Copy your data to Ida.
• IMPORTANT: check log files to make sure that the transfer was completed without errors.
• Remove original data from LMU-active.
• When needed for processing, data can be downloaded from Ida to LMU-active or local drive of an LMU or user workstation.
• Note: You don't need to be inside university of Helsinki network to connect to Ida
