21 (% style="color: rgb(0,51,102);" %)**Moduulin sisältö lyhyesti:**(% style="color: rgb(0,0,0);" %)  Tilastotieteen sovellusalueet kattavat lähes kaikki tieteenalat  ja jokapäiväisen elämämme hahmottamisen, ilmiöiden kvantifioinnin ja päätelmien epävarmuuden dokumentoinnin. Kurssilla luodaan yleiskatsaus tähän laajaan kokonaisuuteen luentojen, esseiden, kirjallisuuden ja laskuharjoitusten (= erillinen 5 op moduuli) avulla. Kurssin luento-moduulissa on  luennoitsijoina tilastotieteilijöitä Kumpulan kampuksen opettajien lisäksi yliopiston muiltakin kampuksilta: politiikan ja talouden tutkimuksen laitokselta, Suomen molekyylilääketieteen instituutista (FIMM), ympäristötieteiden laitokselta, maataloustieteiden laitokselta, metsätieteiden laitokselta, Terveyden ja hyvinnoinnin laitokselta (THL),  Suomen Syöpärekisteristä, Luonnonvarakeskuksesta (Luke), Elintarviketurvallisuusvirastosta (Evira).
