Airyscan
- Uses a 32-channel detector array instead of a single pinhole to collect more emitted light
- Improves signal-to-noise and enhances resolution.
- Or enables faster imaging by scanning 4 or 8 lines simultaneously.
- As there is only one array, only a single channel can be recorded at a time. Imaging multiple channels using an Airy detector slows down the imaging but improved signal to noise combined to processing makes often faster to scan 1-3 channels by Airyscan than by conventional confocal.
