Microsoft Outlook

Outlook is the current, supported way to handle email on Cubbli-computers at the University of Helsinki.

Setting up Outlook as your email client requires:

  • Edge browser (pre-installed in Cubbli)

  • Valid HY user account

  • Working MFA for authentication

For the OWA applications, Edge is the preferred browser, since it, Outlook, and other Office365 products are owned by Microsoft. Therefore support accross them is assumed.

Process

Open the Edge browser

Go to his website and click "Sign in" on the upper right

Sign in with username@ad.helsinki.fi (not firstname.lastname@ad.helsinki.fi)

The University of Helsinki login screen will appear. Enter your credentials

Authenticate with the  HY MFA

You should now have Outlook email open. You can continue using Outlook via the browser, or you can install the OWA application from the button indicated in the picture below:

A pop-up should appear, click Install

The OWA application should pop out of the browser

You can now close the browser, and the opened OWA Outlook. You will now find "Outlook (PWA)" from the list of software. You can pin it to the "dash bar" just like any other application.
