Directory - Organization (bulk import)

  1. Organization management is handled via "Browse" -> "Organization"
    1. You can create an organization with "New Organization"
    2. You can manage it with the management icon.
    3. If you organization exists and you cannot management it, then contact iris@science-it.ch to gain access.
  2. If you would like to add additional attributes to your imported users then select "User attributes"
    1. There is already a pre-defined list of useful attributes, select those you would like to use (if you like additional contact iris@fmi.ch). 
    2. Select update (be aware, if you 
  3. To bulk import users on the "Users" tab select "Bulk import users".
  4. On this screen you can:
    1. set the delimeter: comma, semi-colon, coma with quotes (meaning text within coma field has quotes), semi-colon with quotes (meaning text within coma field has quotes)
      note: using quotes is useful when fields may contain the delimeter
    2. Set the fields and order for import: here you can define fields and order for import (including defined attribute fields)
    3. Full import: it means you do a re-import of all users
      1. Existing users are left alone if they are matched
        1. Any non-matching data is updated
      2. New users are created
      3. Any unmatched users are set to inactive
    4. Import field: paste data into field
    5. Send invitation to users: click if you would like to send invites to new users
    6. Import: it will ask you to verify fields each time, select "Set the fields and order for import", update, and then "Import".
