Elements of set theory II, spring 2010
Lecturer
Kaisa Kangas
Scope
5 cu.
Type
Advanced studies.
Content
Our aim is to go through topics in Enderton's book such as ordinal arithmetic, well-founded relations and models of set theory. We will also take a deeper look at cardinal arithmetic, and possibly go through some further topics if we have time. The contents of the course might be modified depending on the students' prerequisites.
Prerequisites
It would be good (but not necessary) to have some basic knowledge on ordinal numbers, cardinal numbers and transfinite recursion, such as the course Elements of Set Theory lectured in the autumn semester 2009.
Lectures
Weeks 11-18, Tuesday 16-18 room C124, Friday 12-14 room B321. Exception: Friday 7.5. 12-14 room C123.

Exams
There will be a exam on May 18th at 12-16.
Remember to register for the exam! Please contact the lecturer if you want to take the exam at some other time.
