LSM 780 GaAsP detector

On evenings & weekends or if you really can’t get hold of anybody from BIU, if the detector obviously stops working (e.g. you get a bright green screen on the green channel), you can try to restart the “components” (following the shutdown sequence until that point, and the startup sequence from that point on again). Remember this is the last resort and not something you should do routinely! Instructions for how to do this are here:

  1. Quit the Zen software
  2. Shut down computer
  3. When the computer is shut down, switch off “components” from the remote control
  4. Turn on the computer (round power switch on the computer, under the desk)
  5. When the computer has started again fully, switch on components and wait a couple of minutes
  6. Start the software – it is probably safest to do a new smart setup at this point instead of reusing settings from old images. (Use the info view from old images to check your settings such as resolution, laser power, pinholes, gain/offset etc are the same as in your previous images if you need to compare them directly.)
