Access to Redhat support websites

Last modified by terala@helsinki_fi on 2024/02/07 06:33

Red Hat has a support website https://access.redhat.com , that has questions and answers to problems. RedHat also has https://catalog.redhat.com , where you can find RedHat offered UBI and RHEL Images, both of which are good starting points for applications meant to run on the OpenShift container platform.

Each page still needs both logging in with a free RedHat account and an active subscriotion. A free developer subscription can be acquired as a self service. The process is somewhat complex, which is why this article exists.

If you do not have a RedHat account, do the following:

  1. Go to https://redhat.com and click "Login" at the top.
  2. "Register"
    1. Fill your information and activate email
  3. After creating an account, go to https://developer.redhat.com/register and get your Developer subscription.
    1. Wait. Activating the subscription to access.redhat.com took until the next day for me.
