Possible base areas for the zeppelin

Four options for zeppelin bases:

 1. Old military airport in the vicinity of the military warehouse:
 - 5 km to west from the SMEAR II (Hyytiälä Forestry Field Station)
 - less than 10 minutes from Hyytiälä by car
 - permission to use shouldn't be a problem
 - the open space requirement isn't a problem
 - soil surface is clacio-fluvial sorted sand and a little enhancement of the soils bearing capacity might be needed. However, there are gravel taking areas in the immediate vicinity of the place and the possible enhancement shouldn't be too complicated or expensive
 - there is no services in the area but Hyytiälä is very near

 2. Teisko"hobby" airport:
 - 15 km south-west from the SMEAR II

 - about 25 min from Hyytiälä by car
 - the open space and the soils bearing capacity questions are open
 - in practise the only service is cafeteria
 - kept up by a local club

 3. Tampere-Pirkkala airport
 - 56 km south-west from the SMEAR II

 - an international airport were should be variety of services

 4. Halli military/hobby airport
 - 26 km east from Hyytiälä
 - 45 - 60 min from Hyytiälä by car
 - functioning military airport
 - also some civil and hobby aviation
 - open space shouldn't be a problem
 - soils bearing capacity unclear
 - permission policy unclear
 - services?
