Research Council of Finland, Winter Call 2025

The Research Council of Finland autumn call has been replaced with a winter call. The upcoming winter call opens on 13 November 2024 and closes on 8 January 2025. The funding decisions will be made by June 2025.

Applications are invited for

• Academy Project funding
• Academy Research Fellowships
• Clinical Researcher funding 
• Academy Programme for Sport Science

The titles and descriptions of the review panels have been published

The call texts, including the application guidelines and the details on the review criteria and the review procedure, have been published (24.10.2024)

What is new in Winter 2025 call?

GUIDANCE

• Always check the call text and guidelines

• Respect the given deadline

• Contact the UH Faculty / Unit that you wish to name as the site or research in the application 

• Check the scientific council policies, guidelines for the assessment as well as funding decisions of the previous years
• Familiarise yourself with the Get Ready training materials (forthcoming below)
• Tips for writing a successful research plan for the Research Council of Finland (pdf)
• UH’s internal process regarding Data Management Plans

• For advice on the budget and for the UH budget template, contact UH project accountants on the campus where your site of research will be. 

• UH project accountants will fill out the mandatory internal Research application form in SAP Fiori on your behalf (for the approval by the dean/head of unit)

• After given approval to apply with UH as the site of research, apply for funding using the Research Council of Finland's online service

• In the online application form, provide the name of the commitment issuer (site of research, head of the unit)

• When the call closes, the Research Council of Finland sends a request for commitment by site of research to the person named in the application
