6. After the event
- Save the chat (instructions https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115004792763-Saving-in-meeting-chat)
- Distribute the results of a possible poll to the participants, if it has not been done before. Also, if necessary, capture the results as a screenshot for yourself.
- Closing of the event.
- Any recording of the meeting is converted to an mp4 file on the recorder's computer (the longer the video the longer converting takes!).
Adding a video on a website / Accessibility
The Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which came into force on 1 April 2019, obliges universities to ensure that their online services comply with accessibility requirements.
There is no need to provide closed captioning to live video streams, but if the video will be stored as a recording on the website, it must be rendered accessible no later than 14 days after it was premiered.
- Videos must have closed captioning, which not only covers the video but also other essential sound elements. Complying with these guidelines means that a Finnish-language video is subtitled in Finnish, a Swedish-language video in Swedish and an English-language video in English.
YouTube has a feature which allows providing videos with closed captioning. More detailed information is available in YouTube's instructions: Add your own subtitles & closed captions.
The University has started using the Screencast-o-Matic software , and instructions for it use are available from Helpdesk. Adding captions to videos
- Unitube is a service aimed at university staff and students that enables viewing, publishing and managing video material. The services are available on a self-service basis and they are free of charge to University students and staff.
Video captioning and transcription service
