4. Conference assistants and their training

Like in onsite conferences we advice the organisers to recruit student assistant. The recruitment of student assistants is the responsibility of the conference organiser, but the conference services can arrange  training (max 1,5 hours) for the assistants. The training covers issues related to zoom specifically from the perspective of the conference. After the training, the assistants will have a better understanding of the zoom functions as well as tips for solving the most common problems that remote conferences may encounter.

Assistant training should be arranged no earlier than about a couple of weeks before the event. We also hope that at least some of the organisers could attend the training because students often have conference-specific questions.

The most important task of conference assitants is to create the zoom meetings (links) needed for the conference, so the assistants must have a helsinki.fi e-mail address. During the conference, students act as technical hosts for meetings (sessions).
