Leading information specialist Markku Roinila presented Keenious (presentation Keenious Neuvottelukunnat 25052023.pdf).
The increasing use of artificial intelligence is also reflected in library services. As an example, an AI-based search tool Keenious analyses the text and recommends further reading. The application can be used to search for similar or related sources based on either a publication or a written text. Keenious, which is available for university staff and students, works in a web browser, as an add-on for Word and Google Docs.
3. Library as a promoter of encounters and information sharing.
The library operates on four campuses and online. The library facilitates encounters and organises various events in cooperation with other university actors. The library is involved in the Guidance Corner, which organises events supporting study and well-being in Kaisa-talo and Viikki Campus Library. The library aims to develop the university's activities in cooperation with various actors. Leading information specialist Päivi Helminen presented these above mentioned events etc (presentation: 2023_05_25_helminen.pdf).
4. National Research Information Hub & Research.fi service.

5. Current issues in Viikki.
- Work as a liaison librarian.
Information specialists Taina Kettunen and Maija Halminen told about their work as liaison librarians. Each faculty or department in Viikki has a designated team of three librarians: the liaison librarian (usually from research services), the other one for the collections and acquisition and the third one from learning services pedagogical team. The customers can contact the liaison librarian and ask anything related to the library and library services. The liaison librarian informs the faculty/department on library news, mainly by email messages. The liaison librarian also updates field-specific library guide (e.g. https://libraryguides.helsinki.fi/agriculture and https://libraryguides.helsinki.fi/bio-env_sciences). All the guides are here: https://www.helsinki.fi/en/helsinki-university-library/using-collections/field-specific-research-guides. The liaison librarians are happy to give short info sessions in the meetings of the units. All the liaison librarians of the library are on the page: https://www.helsinki.fi/en/helsinki-university-library/contact-library/liaison-librarians-services.
Discussion:
The liaison librarians should inform themselves on a regular basis. David Thomas will invite Maija and Taina to a webinar of the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences.
