First login to a Cubbli Linux host

NOTICE: Due to University of Helsinki's change on VPNs, which now require MFA login, you cannot perform a first login outside of University of Helsinki networks. Meaning, you need to either, connect your computer to the wired network (for staff laptops), or Eduroam. You can also request the local IT support for assistance, if you are unable to connect to either. For that, please contact the University of Helsinki's Helpdesk at helpdesk@helsinki.fi

First login

After connecting your computer to wither a wired UH network or Eduroam, start your computer. Wait until it reaches the first login screen.

Make sure, that the computer receives an IP address. You should see it in the infobox on the right.

Enter your University of Helsinki username with no @ad.helsinki.fi or @helsinki.fi appended, and your password. Click "Create account". There should now be the following pop-up:

If the information is correct for your user, click "Proceed". You should now be informed that a local account for the computer has been created. Click "Proceed":

You should now be greeted by the regular login window. You should now be able to login to the system:
