Title:Cascades in 2d turbulence, an overview of some recent theoretical results Abstract: I will give an overview of some recent results concerning 2d Navier-Stokes turbulence. These include the derivation of Kraichnan-Kolmogorov's theory from the Karman-Howarth-Monin equation (Bernard, Lindborg), the role of the dissipation in the direct cascade (Ott et al, Vergassola et al). I will also shortly discuss scaling predictions for 2d Navier-Stokes based on renormalization group analysis (Honkonen et al) and contrast them to the outcome of numerical experiments in the parametric domain where they should apply.
