9. Course learning outcomes
1. Gain the knowledge of structure and forms of sea ice.
2. Explain the role of thermodynamics in the evolution of sea-ice cover, particularly the thermal growth and decay of ice. Related to this, obtain the skills to use analytical and numerical solutions to resolve problems related to sea-ice thermodynamics.
3. Explain the role of dynamics in the evolution of sea-ice cover including motion, rheology and deformation. Related to this, obtain the skills to use analytical and numerical solutions to resolve problems related to sea-ice dynamics.
4. Gain skills to use and analyse thermodynamic-dynamic sea-ice models.
5. Gain the skill to discuss about the role of sea ice in the Earth's climate.
