Scope

The course gives an introduction to quantum field theory in curved spacetime. Particular applications that will be discussed are the quantum creation of inflationary cosmological perturbations, and Hawking radiation from black holes.

Type

Advanced studies.

Prerequisites:

Basics of quantum field theory of free fields, very basic concepts of general relativity (the metric etc.)

First lecture on Thursday 6. September

Lectures:

Wednesdays 10-12 and Thurdays 12-14 in room A315 in Physicum
