Doctoral education reform in 2013/2014

As part of the reform of doctoral studies in Finland, the Finnish National Doctoral Programme in Mathematics and its Applications will be discontinued at the end of 2013 and superseded by various local doctoral programmes operated by individual universities. Thus there will be no new openings for funded positions within this Doctoral Programme.

At the University of Helsinki, a new Doctoral Programme in Mathematics and Statistics will be launched at the beginning of 2014. See its webpage for more information on applications to the new Doctoral Programme.

Support for travelling and organization of events

The Finnish National Doctoral Programme in Mathematics and its Applications will provide some travel support until the end of 2015 for the participation by its doctoral students in intensive courses, summer/winter schools and conferences in Finland and abroad. Organizers may also apply for partial financial support from the Doctoral Programme for the organization of research training events within Finland related to the research areas covered by the Doctoral Programme.
