Wiki in brief

Wiki is a simple tool for online collaboration on the Web. All wiki pages are available by Web browser. A user is able to edit the contents of a wiki page, depending on the rights granted to her. Moreover, there is no need for special tools or technical skills. Since all wiki pages are basically Web pages, all alterations made by users are immediately available to others.

The Wiki service at the University of Helsinki (aka wiki.helsinki.fi) is available to all users who have an user account from the IT Department. Students and employees are able to create wiki spaces for personal or collaborative use. In addition, users can browse and contribute to existing wiki spaces to some extent. All wiki spaces are administrated separately, and appearance and permits vary.
