OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN

One of the main goals of the Centre of Excellence in Inverse Problem Research is to ensure equal opportunities for young researchers. Especially, the problem of under-representation of women in mathematics is considered and equal opportunities in employment and the role of female researchers are actively taken into consideration in the CoE. Currently, six out of the 21 PhDs graduated since 2005 are women which is above the average level in mathematical sciences in general. Furthermore, in four sites of the CoE there are female researchers at the senior level.

MAILING LIST

A network of women in the Finnish Inverse Problems community was launched during Inverse Days 2014A mailing list has been created. Themes like gender gap in science, gender equality or mentorship can be discussed there. The mailing list is closed and approval from the admin is needed, to guarantee privacy and control over the members list.
If you would like to join, please send an email to Paola Elefante.

FEMALE MENTORS OF COE IN INVERSE PROBLEMS RESEARCH

We have established a system where senior female mathematicians act as mentors for the other female researchers. The mentors arrange female-directed activities as part of the CoE activities. Furthermore, all the potential and current female researchers in the CoE are welcome to contact the mentors whenever they wish. The senior mentors and their contact details are:
