Current position
I received my PhD degree (special education) in University of Helsinki 2006. In years 2006-2010 I worked for Niilo Mäki Institute (University of Jyväskylä) in which my responsibilities included the management of research-based web-service LukiMat-Math development.
I currently work for the University of Helsinki (Department of Teacher Education, Special Education Section) as a University Lecturer. I am a Docent (i.e. Adjunct Professor) of Special Education, Principal Investigator and a head of project Think Science and Math.
Research Interests
My research interests are:
- The development and learning of early mathematical skills
- Learning difficulties in mathematics
- Assessment of mathematical performance and development
- Mathematical and related cognitive skills interventions
- Cross-cultural and multi-cultural aspects of learning
