| Aineistokuvaus | Compendex on tekniikan alan viitetietokanta, joka sisältää viitteitä ja tiivistelmiä yli 5,600 tekniikan alan lehteen ja konferenssiin vuodesta 1969 lähtien. Tietokannan aihealueita ovat kemian laite- ja prosessitekniikka, tietokoneet ja tietojenkäsittely, soveltava fysiikka, elektroniikka ja tietotekniikka, rakennus- jakonetekniikka sekä materiaalioppi. PaperChem on selluloosa- ja paperiteollisuuden viitetietokanta. |

| Sallittu käyttö | Auktorisoidut käyttäjät voivat: - Selailla ja tehdä tiedonhakuja aineistosta. - Tulostaa aineistosta paperille ja näytölle kohtuullisia määriä artikkeleita, abstrakteja ja tietueita (otteita). - Tehdä www-linkkejä otteisiin. - Sähköisiä kurssipaketteja varten tehdä linkkejä otteisiin ja tallentaa otteita kurssipaketteihin edellyttäen että kursseista saa opintoviikkoja ja että otteet tuhotaan 2 vuoden sisällä kurssin päättymisestä sekä organisaatio pyydettäessä antaa kirjallisen vahvistuksen hävittämisestä. Kursseihin, joista ei saa opintopisteitä, aineistoa saa käyttää vain mikäli kustantajalta on saatu erillinen lupa. - Toimittaa otteita muille auktorisoiduille käyttäjäille sekä kollegoille tutkimustarkoituksiin. - Tulostaa ja tallentaa henkilökohtaiseen käyttöön kohtuullisen määrän otteita. - Toimittaa tulostettuna tai elektronisessa muodossa otteita muille auktorisoiduille käyttäjille, esimerkiksi organisaation kursseille osallistuville opiskelijoille. Näkövammaisille voi tarjota ei-elektronisessa muodossa olevia kurssipaketteja. Tilaava organisaatio saa: - kerätä tilastotietoa omaan käyttöön - tulostaa ja toimittaa otteita auktorisoiduille käyttäjille |

| Description | EiVillage includes several databases, of which members of FinELib-consortiom subscribe Compendex and PaperChem. Compendex is a bibliographic database of engineering research, containing references and abstracts taken from over 5000 engineering journals, conferences and technical reports. Also links to full-text articles. Coverage includes nuclear technology, bioengineering, transportation, chemical and process engineering, light and optical technology, agricultural engineering and food technology, computers and data processing, applied physics, electronics and communications, control, civil, mechanical, materials, petroleum, aerospace and automotive engineering as well as narrower subtopics within all these and other major engineering fields. PaperChem is bibliographic database covering international literature related to pulp and paper technology. It includes abstracts of journal articles, conference papers and technical reports as of July 1967, with over 500,000 records |
| Authorised users | Full-time and part-time students, faculty, staff, researchers, and independent contractors of the Institution (onsite or via remote access) and individuals using computer terminals within the library facilities at the Institution permitted by the Institution to access the Licensed Products through the Institution's secure network. |
| Permitted use | The Authorized user may: - Access, search, browse and view the Licensed Product. - Print and download a reasonable amount of articles, abstracts, records or parts of chapters from the Licensed Product. - Incorporate links to Excerpts on the Subscriber's intranet and internet websites, provided that the appearance of such links and/or statements accompanying such links shall be changed as reasonably requested by the Licensor . - Incorporate links to Excerpts and electronically save Excerpts in electronic coursepacks, reserves and course management systems for use in connection with courses offered by the Subscriber for academic credit, provided that the electronically saved Excerpts shall carry appropriate acknowledgement of the source, title, author, and publisher and are deleted within two (2) years after the end of each semester or trimester in which they are used (with such deletion confirmed in writing to the Licensor upon request) and the Subscriber obtains the prior written consent of the Licensor for use in connection with any non-credit courses - Subscriber and its Authorized Users may in addition offer coursepacks in nonelectronic, nonprint perceptible form, such as audio or Braille, to Authorized Users who are visually impaired. - Transmit Excerpts to other Authorized Users and to third-party colleagues for their scholarly or research use - Print and download and electronically save for personal use a reasonable amount of articles, abstracts, records or parts of chapters from the Licensed Products ("Excerpts") - Distribute parts of the Licensed Product in Print or electronic form to other Authorized Users, including a copy for each student taking part in a course at the Licensee’s institution. The Licensee may: - itself obtain usage data on its own use of the Licensed products - print and deliver excerpts to authorized users |
| Prohibited use | Licensees and its Authorized users may not: - Abridge, modify, translate or create any derivative work based on the Licensed Products without the prior written permission of the Licensor, except to the extent necessary to make them perceptible on a computer screen to Authorized Users. - Remove, obscure or modify in any way any copyright notices, other notices or disclaimers as they appear in the Licensed Products. - Substantially or systematically reproduce, retain or redistribute the Licensed Products. |
| Remote access | Authorized users are allowed remote access to the licensed material by logging into the secure network of a consortium member organisation. |
