| Aineistokuvaus | Freedom collection sisältää vajaa 2000 elektronista lehteä pääasiassa luonnontieteiden, lääketieteen ja teknisten tieteiden alalta vuodesta 1995 lähtien. Freedom-kokoelma päivittyy kerran vuodessa uusilla, Elsevierin ostamilla tai myymillä nimekkeillä. Yksittäiset organisaatiot ovat voineet hankkia myös vuotta 1995 vanhempaa takautuvaa aineistoa. Jotkut organisaatiot ovat tilanneet myös joitakin CellPressin lehtiä. Elsevierin hakuteoksista ja e-kirjoista on organisaatioille lisensioitu FinELibin kautta Business management & economics books series, Encyclopedia of appl. psychology, enc. of forest sciences, enc. of language and linguistics, enc. of social measument, handbook of operations research and management science, handbooks in economic series interntional encyclopeida of the social & behavioral sciences. |
| Käyttäjät | Aineistoa saavat käyttää sopimukseen osallistuvan organisaation opiskelijat, tutkijat ja muu henkilökunta sekä asianomaisen organisaation kirjaston paikallisasiakkaat. |
| Sallittu käyttö | Mitä saa tehdä: Organisaatiot ja niiden auktorisoidut käyttäjät saavat: - selailla, tehdä hakuja, tulostaa aineistoa näyttöruudulle - kohtuullisessa määrin tulostaa ja tallentaa tilapäisesti (download) artikkeleita, abstrakteja, tietueita tai osia kappaleista tai luvuista (otteet) - linkittää aineistoja organisaation www-sivuille - linkittää ja tallentaa aineistoja kurssipaketteihin. Käyttö kurssipaketeissa on sallittu kursseilla joista saa opintopisteitä . Lisäksi kustantaja edellyttää, että kurssipaketit hävitetään 2 vuoden kuluessa. Kustantajalta on pyydettävä erikseen lupa mikäli aineistoja halutaan käyttää muissa kurssipaketeissa. Aineistoja voidaan käyttää organisaation näkövammaisille tarkoitetuissa kurssipaketeissa. Auktorisoidut käyttäjät voivat myös: - lähettää otteita muille auktorisoiduille käyttäjille sekä muille kollegoille tieteelliseen tai tutkimuskäyttöön - tulostaa ja tallentaa henkilökohtaiseen käyttöön (ml. opetuksessa käytetyt esitykset) kohtuullisessa määrin artikkeleita Organisaatiot voivat käyttää aineistoa (ml. tavaramerkit, kuvakaappaukset, logot) sisäisessä koulutuksessa ja markkinoinnissa. Kirjastohenkilöstö voi tallentaa organisaation internet ja intranet-sivuille koulutus- ja markkinointitarkoituksiin kohtuullisessä määrin kuvakaappauksia. |
| Kielletty käyttö | Mitä ei saa tehdä: - muokata, kääntää tai luoda aineistoon pohjautuvia johdannaistuotteita ilman kustantajan lupaa - poistaa tai muuttaa tekijänoikeusmerkintöjä - kopioida, säilyttää tai toimittaa aineistoa edelleen systemaattisesti tai huomattavia määriä Luvaton aineiston käyttö voi johtaa siihen, että organisaatiolta evätään välittömästi pääsy aineistoon. Tilaavan organisaation on rajattava aineiston käyttö vain auktorisoiduille käyttäjille ja tiedotettava käyttäjille aineiston käyttöehdoista sekä kohtuuden rajoissa huolehdittava siitä että käyttöehtoja noudatetaan. Organisaation on välittömästi ilmoitettava kustantajalle luvattomasta käytöstä ja ryhdyttävä toimiin luvattoman käytön estämiseksi. |
| Etäkäyttö | Aineiston etäkäyttö on mahdollista kirjoittautumalla oman organisaation suojattuun verkkoon ja käyttämällä palvelua sitä kautta. |

) includes nearly 2000 electronic journals mainly from natural sciences, medical sciences and engineering starting from the year 1995. Freedom collection will be updated once a year with new, transferred or removed titles. In addition, some organisations have licensed backfiles prior to 1995, CellPress titles and reference works like Business management & economics books series, Encyclopedia of appl. psychology, enc. of forest sciences, enc. of language and linguistics, enc. of social measurement, handbook of operations research and management science, handbooks in economic series international encyclopedia of the social & behavioral sciences. |
| Authorised users | Authorised users are students, faculty, staff, researchers and independent contractors of the Institutions subscribing to Licensed Products and individuals using computer terminals within the library facilities at the Institutions. |
| Permitted use | Institutions and its Authorised users may - access, search, view and browse the licensed products - print and download a reasonable amount of articles, abstracts, records or parts of chapers from the Licensed Products ("Excerpts") - incorporate links to excerpts on the Institutions' intranet and internet web sites - incorporate links to excerpts and electronically save excerpts in electronic coursepack & incorporate printed excerpts in printed coursepacks Use in connection with courses provides that courses are offered by the Institutions for academic credit, excerpts shall carry appropriate acknowledgement of the source and excerpts are deleted within 2 years. Use in connection with non-credit courses needs permission from Elsevier. Coursepacks in nonelectronic, non-print perceptible form (e.g. Braille) may be offered for visually impaired. Authorised users may - provide printed or electronic copies of excepts to other authorised users or to third party colleagues for their scholarly or research use - print and electronically save for personal use a reasonable amount of articles, abstracts, records or parts of chapters from the licensed products (incl. use by teaching staff in electronic presentations during lectures for credited courses) Institutions will be entitled to promote and provide training on the licensed products to authorised users. Librarians are allowed to electronically save and post for training and promotional purposes on Institutions' intranet or internet web site a reasonable number of screenshots, including trademarks and logos. |
| Prohibited use | Institutions and its authorised users may not - abridge, modify, translate or create any derivated work based on the licensed products without Elsevier's permission - remove, obscure or modify copyright notices, other notices or disclaimers as they appear in the licensed products - substancially or systematically reproduce, retain or redistribute the licensed products Unauthorised use of the licensed products may lead to suspension of access to the licensed products. Institutions shall use reasonable efforts to: - ensure that access to and use of the licensed products is limited to authorised users and that all authorised users are notified of and comply with the usage restrictions - ensure that any passwords or credentials used to access the licensed products are issued only to authorised users and that neither the institutions or authorised users divulge any passwords or credentials to any third party - and immediately upon becoming aware of any unauthorised use inform Elsevier and take appropriate steps to ensure that such activity ceases and to prevent any recurrence. |
