Aineistokuvaus Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA) -viitetietokanta sisältää n. 740 000 elintarvikealan viitettä ja tiivistelmää vuodesta 1969 lähtien. Viitteitä lisätään n. 35 000 kpl. vuosittain.
Käyttäjät Aineistoa saavat käyttää sopimukseen osallistuvan organisaation opiskelijat, tutkijat (pysyvät, määräaikaiset, sopimuksiin perustuvat tai vierailevat), henkilökunta sekä asianomaisen organisaation kirjaston paikallisasiakkaat.
Sallittu käyttö Käyttäjät saavat:

- selailla ja tehdä tiedonhakuja
- tulostaa ja tallentaa elektronisesti yksittäisiä haun tuloksia omaan tai toisen aineiston käyttöön oikeutetun käyttäjän käyttöön (muut kuin kirjaston paikallisasiakkaat voivat lähettää tuloksia sähköisille ilmoitustauluille sekä sähköpostilistoille, joiden lukuoikeus on rajattu vain aineiston käyttöön oikeutetuille henkilöille). Osia aineistosta voi jakaa auktorisoiduille käyttäjille, jotka osallistuvat koulutukseen käyttöön oikeutetussa organisaatiossa.
- vähäisiä osia aineistosta saa käyttää kurssipaketeissa omaan opetuskäyttöön. Kurssimateriaalin tulee sisältää asianmukaiset tekijä- ja lähdeviitteet (artikkelin/julkaisun nimeke, tekijä, kustantaja). Kurssipaketit tulee tuhota kun kurssi on päättynyt. Näkövammaisille on lupa tehdä ei-elektronisessa, ei-painetussa muodossa olevia kurssipaketteja.
- aineistosta saa luovuttaa satunnaisesti yksittäisiä osia muille kuin sopimukseen piiriin kuuluville käyttäjille ei-kaupalliseen tieteelliseen tutkimustarkoitukseen ja kommunikointiin sekä käytettäväksi keskusteluryhmässä, mutta ei julkaistavaksi niitä omilla tai organisaation verkkosivuilla
- sisäisessä markkinoinnissa, testauksessa ja käyttäjien koulutuksessa voi tallentaa elektronisesti, tulostaa ja jakaa (myös käyttöön oikeutetun organisaation omilla verkkosivuilla) tuotemerkkejä, kuvakaappauksia ja logoja sekä osia aineistosta.
- bibliografisia tietoja tai tiivistelmiä voi käyttää ainoastaan omissa tutkimusraporteissa ja artikkeleissa sekä kurssipaketeissa
- käyttää vähäisiä osia aineistosta seminaari-, konferenssi- ja workshop-esityksissä tai vastaavissa.

Vähäinen määrä aineistoa tarkoittaa määrää, jolla ei ole itsenäistä kaupallista arvoa, joka ei korvaa mitää tietokantaa tai huomattavaa osaa siitä ja jota käyttäjä ei erikseen säännöllisesti tai systemaattisesti ylläpidä.
Kielletty käyttö Mitä ei saa tehdä:

- ei saa myydä, jälleenmyydä, siirtää, lainata tai muulla tavoin käyttää aineistoa mihinkään kaupalliseen tarkoitukseen
- kopioida tai monistaa tietokantoja, tehdä niistä käännöksiä tai millään muulla tavalla luoda niistä johdannaistuotteita tai -tietokantoja
- levittää tai tarjota tietokantoja konsortion ulkopuolisten käyttöön
- evittää tai tarjota tiedonhaun tuloksia konsortion ulkopuolisten käyttöön muuten kuin mitä on erikseen sallittu
- käsitellä lähdekoodia tai muita tietoja joihin ei ole sopimuksen puitteissa pääsyä
- luoda tai muokata tietokannoista ja niissä käytetystä teknologiasta tai niiden osista uusia vastaavia tuotteita tai palveluja
- muuttaa tai poistaa tuotemerkkejä ja -nimiä tai tekijänoikeusmerkintöjä
Etäkäyttö Aineiston etäkäyttö on mahdollista kirjautumalla oman organisaation verkkoon. Kirjaston paikallisasiakkailla ei ole oikeutta etäkäyttää aineistoa.

Description Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA) includes about 740,000 records and abstracts starting from 1969, about 35,000 records being added annually.
Authorised users
  • Current members of the faculty of a Client and staff, affiliated researchers, docents and contractors of the Client (whether on a permanent, temporary, contract or visiting basis during the course of their engagement with the Client), and individuals who are currently studying at the Client.
  • Individuals who are permitted to access the Secure Network only from computer terminals within the physical premises of the Client ("Walk In Users").
Permitted use
  • view, retrieve, download and display Data;
  • printing and electronically saving copies of parts of the Database and Search Results for their own use and/or for other Users' use only and distributing such copies and Search Results to other Users only; Users (but not Walk-in Users) shall be entitled to post such copies and Search Results to electronic services or bulletin boards which are restricted for Users' use only; this shall include the distribution of a copy for teaching purposes to each individual student Authorized User taking part in a course at the Client's institution.
  • incorporating copies of insubstantial parts of the Database or Search Results in Course Packs and distributing Course Packs for teaching purposes to each individual student Authorised User taking part in a course at the Client's institution; each such Course Pack shall carry appropriate acknowledgement of the source, listing title and author of extract, title and author of work, and publisher; copies of Course Packs shall be deleted by the Client when they are no longer required for such purposes; Course Packs in non-electronic non-print perceptible form, such as audio or Braille, may also be offered to Users who, in the reasonable opinion of the Client, are
    visually impaired;
  • distributing singles copies of Data or the Search Results to third parties for the purposes of scientific research and communication or to be used for the basis of discussion groups; sharing in this manner with non-authorized users shall be incidental to such Permitted Purposes and not for re-transmission posting on personal or institutional websites and not for Commercial use;
  • displaying, saving electronically, printing and distributing (also on the Client's public website in the case of training) parts of the Databases or Data including trademarks, screenshots and logos for the purpose of internal marketing or testing or for training Users;
  • using bibliographic and abstract Data retrieved from the Databases for the purpose of publishing research reports and articles and Course Packs only; and
  • publicly displaying or publicly performing insubstantial parts of the Databases or Data as part of a presentation at a seminar, conference, or workshop, or other such similar activity.
    Client's use of the Databases shall be subject to the terms and conditions of the Database-related exhibits.

    Examples of an "insubstantial parts" of a Database or Data include an amount of the Database or Data which: on its own has no independent commercial value as an independent product or work; could not be used by the recipient as a substitute for any database (or a substantial part of it) provided by TS or its Affiliates; or is not used by the Client separately such that it is regularly or systematically updated.
Prohibited use Users may not

  • use any of the Licensed Materials for the purposes of any Commercial Use by means of the sale, resale, loan, transfer, hire or other form of exploitation of the Data;
  • copy, duplicate, reproduce, translate into any language, or in any way reproduce any part of the Products
  • create subsets or derivative databases from the Databases.
  • distribute or transfer the Products, or any portion thereof, in any form (printed, electronically relayed, posted to public list services or bulletin boards, or magnetically stored)
  • access the source code, data algorithms or other aspects of the Products that are not displayed to Users in their authorized use of the Products;
  • reverse engineer, de-compile, translate, modify, distribute, broadcast, disseminate or create derivative works from the Products or otherwise use the Products (or any portion or derivation thereof) in any product or service;
  • alter, obscure, remove, interfere with or add to any of the trade marks, trade names, markings or notices, including, but not limited to, copyright notices, affixed to or contained in the Products or any Updates included at the time such Updates are delivered to a Client.
Remote access Authorized Users but not Walk-in Users, who are permitted to access the Secure Network regardless of the physical location of such persons and who have been issued by the Client with a password or other authentication.
